Birds-Hiding in the Grasses

On a recent trip to the Villages in Wildwood, Florida, we spotted this Great Blue Heron hiding in the grasses. The Great Blue Heron is a water bird found mostly in open water and wetland. It is a cranelike bird with a long sinuous neck and a dagger like beak. The bird is common to north and central Americas. The male and female are very similar in appearance and difficult to tell apart.
